Warhead Shooter

Last night my husband and I decided to watch Inside: Pixar on Netflix, and while watching it, I asked my husband if he’d ever heard about The Pixar Theory.  I was absolutely shocked that he hadn’t as he usually hears about these things before I do, but I wasn’t at all shocked when he immediately started reading about it on his phone while I started watching something else.  For the next 30 minutes, all I heard were faint utterances of, “Whoa…”

His mind was officially blown.  lol

Anyway, Inside: Pixar reminded me that Toy Story came out in 1995.  Wow.  It’s hard to believe it was so long ago when I was still a kid (ok, an adolescent), and one of my favorite candies as a kid (and adolescent) were all sorts of crazy sour ones which were always great for dares.

Being an “adult”, dares can be a bit more interesting and involve booze, so here’s a fun shot inspired by Warheads, the sweet delicious hard candy with a face-imploding sour coating. No worries – it’s good and quite a lot of fun, and for the kids, you can substitute grenadine for the booze.

Recipe:

In a 2 oz shooter glass, fill roughly two-thirds with blue curacao. If you want more sour action, pour less.

Carefully float lime or lemon juice by pouring on the side of the glass slowly. A squeeze bottle helps.

Sip the juice until you can no longer handle it and then shoot the rest.

  1. Oh how I loved warheads when I was a kid! Cry Babies too. Do you remember the fizzing warheads? Those were my favorite. I’m pretty sure my teeth have horrible enamel now because of them. I’ll have to dare Hubby to take one of these with me.

I wouldn’t put it past Pixar to put everything in the same universe. I’ve also enjoyed reading about how the Walking Dead and Toy Story have the same plot Was it really 1995 when Toy Story came out? Wow.
