Grapefruit with Mint & Honey

In an effort to make more accessible drinkie-drinks, today’s cocktail involves common ingredients and liqueurs/liquors, and it was inspired by Grapefruit Salad with Honey-Mint Dressing.

And now I’m off to clean the kitchen and rock out to some Van Morrison. Maybe I’ll show my terrifying liquor cabinet tomorrow and my refrigerator if I get to it?  If I have to post pics, that’ll be a strong motivator to get it done and looking presentable.

Or something.

Hope you like the drink!

Recipe:

Rim 5 oz (minimum size) glass with cool (for the sake of viscosity) honey and gold sprinkles or sugar in the raw.

Shake or stir ½ oz white crème de menthe, 1 oz white rum, and 2 oz grapefruit juice with ice.

Note: I highly recommend using fresh grapefruit juice, and if you hate squeezing your own citrus juice, roll the fruit on the counter top putting a generous amount of weight on it as you roll. This will soften the pulp and make squeezing easier.

Note:  You can use green crème de menthe – it’ll just make for a green cocktail.

Strain into prepared glass and garnish with fresh mint.
