Canadian Fire Martini

Today I’m running a little behind schedule after taking one of the cats to the vet for teeth problems, and he’ll have to go back Wednesday for a full teeth cleaning (and shave because he’s kinda gross).

And drop off for dentals is between 7:30 and 8:00 am. SO DUMB!

I had to take him this morning because my husband’s laptop died and he had to get a new one from IT or something, but hopefully he’ll do the drop off because I really don’t want to. I’ll do the pick up because I’m nice (and properly awake at 4:30 pm).

Anyway, while looking through Instructables, I came across an incredibly intriguing recipe for something called “Canadian Fire”, which is a spicy pecan brittle with maple syrup and Sriracha, and it spoke to me.

It said, “For the love of all that is good and true in this world, turn me into a martini!”

So I did.

Recipe:

Shake or stir 1 oz vodka, 1 oz pecan liqueur, ½ oz cinnamon schnapps, ½ oz maple syrup, and a couple dashes of hot sauce with ice.

Strain into a martini glass.

  1. I don’t know if you’re aware but Southern Comfort makes a maple flavored version. It’s DELICIOUS and tastes like breakfast in a bottle. If you ever wanted to make this purely alcohol based (apart from the hot sauce) that would be a great sub for the maple syrup. 🙂

    • That sounds like a super fun liqueur!!

I always have real maple syrup on hand, so I figured between the vodka and the syrup, it basically amounted to a liqueur. 😀
