Grapefruit Blondie

I never knew how tasty grapefruit could be until I moved to Texas, and I suspect the best of the grapefruit crops stay in Texas which, I imagine, is true for other citrus producing states.  And did you know that the number one producer of grapefruit is the United States?

Anyway, prior to moving here, I figured that the only way to eat the delicious fruit was to pour a pound of sugar on it because the ones I had were always far too tart and frequently dry and bitter and horrible.  It was an ordeal to enjoy it, and I consider myself very lucky to have access to these tasty treats that are best consumed in the winter.

Consequently, today’s cocktail is inspired by these white chocolate blondies with red grapefruit frosting over at Daily Squeeze.

  1. Lol do you drink alcoholic beverages every single day? Nice! I can use a cocktail right about now. I don’t drink often though, just once in a blue moon. I mostly like cocktails and dessert wine,

When I was growing up, we had a grapefruit tree in our backyard, so we’d have plenty for us and the neighbors. I never really liked it much as a kid, but I do like it now (especially in a cocktail).

    • Depending on my mood, I don’t always drink the whole thing, but I always try it for quality assurance. 😛

I wish I had a citrus tree growing up – I think the most productive tree we had was a gum ball tree which is only good for ammunition or shrapnel inside snowballs. lol.
