Apparently I’ve been given the green light for upgrading my camera, which actually means nothing because I was going to upgrade when this one breaks, and it’s still working. La, la, la!
So rather than shopping for a new camera, a good chunk of my day was spent on Mr. Money Mustache and looking at financial tracking software/sites, and I’m not sure if I want to go with Mint or YNAB or something else. One way or another, there’s going to be a booze category!
I can’t remember the last time I had a molasses cookie, particularly ones that looked as wonderful as these, but from recollection, this cocktail is most certainly inspired by them! It’s smooth and sweet with a bit of spice and depth.

In a 12 oz glass filled with crushed ice (optionally rimmed with sugar in the raw), pour ½ oz spiced rum and 1 oz black strap rum.
Top with cream soda.
Serve with a straw.
