Here’s an easy cocktail that you can likely make today as the ingredients are quite common. The only one that might be tricky is the creme de menthe, but ehhhhh… creme de menthe is very affordable. I typically buy DeKuyper brand (less than $20 for 1L) and have it in green and white, but with this cocktail, you can use whatever you have on hand since the color isn’t going to make much difference.
What I particularly like about this cocktail is how tall it is which is perfect for people who typically drink beer. The other day I was talking to a friend about how we both love cocktails but can’t spend a night drinking them – if it’s a drinking night, we both opt for beer. That might seem a bit weird, but if you’re used to drinking beer at a certain pace, it can be hard to force yourself to slow down with cocktails. Basically, you might wind up drinking 12 oz of cocktails as if it were 12 oz of beer, and then you’ll get some terrible spins. Blech. I’m getting a bit better with the cocktails, but it’s only because I insert a glass of water in between.
Anyway! This is a truly delicious cocktail, and it’s super simple and quite affordable as far as ingredients go. It would be perfect for summer, so be sure to mark it on your calender!

Steep 1 black tea bag in 4 oz of hot water for 1-2 minutes.
Stir in 1 tbsp sugar.
Carefully add 4 oz of chunky ice. I did all this in a pyrex measuring cup, so I just added ice until it hit the 8 oz mark.
In 12 oz glass pour the iced tea with ice and add ½ oz creme de menthe and 1 oz vodka.
Top with a bit more ice.
Garnish with fresh mint if you have it and serve with a straw.
