The other night I decided to experiment with trying to make a ginger snap cocktail, but what I made was not reminiscent of ginger snap cookies. For a bit I had a hard time placing my finger on it because the flavor was very familiar, and then I remembered these tiny gummy Ricola breath fresheners that I had forever ago.
Now that might sound disturbing, but I remembered the flavor so well because they were delicious. I think I ate the whole box! They were herbal and effervescent and sweet. Just like this cocktail.
If you’re still concerned, the ingredients are black strap rum, wedding cake vodka, spiced rum, and ginger ale – nothing crazy at all.

In a Collins glass filled with crushed ice, pour 1 oz black strap rum, ½ oz wedding cake vodka (or Tuaca), and ½ oz spiced rum.
Top with ginger ale.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry and serve with a straw.
